This section contains late breaking information regarding the Sitecore 5.1.1 release. 

Sitecore 5.1.1 includes support for two major new features since Sitecore 5.1:

• Firebird DB
  Support for the Firebird file-based database as an alternative to Microsoft SQL Server for the Sitecore databases.

• Proxy Items
  Support the addition of virtual items into the Sitecore content structure.  Read more in the Using Proxy Items article.
